Self-driving cars in 30 U.S. cities by 2016
The Observer is reporting that "automated vehicle" pilot projects will roll out in the U.K. and six to 10 U.S. cities in 2015.
In 2016, trial programs will launch in 12 to 20 more U.S. locations, which means driverless cars will be on roads in up to 30 U.S. cities by the end of 2016.
One study contemplated what would happen if driverless cars were combined with an on-demand service like Uber? They concluded that nine out of ten cars on every road would be totally obsolete!
